FAQ
What can I expect during my first visit? During your first appointment, we’ll review your health history and discuss osteopathy so you feel informed and comfortable. I’ll assess how your body moves in standing and seated positions, both actively and passively, to identify areas of restriction or imbalance. Based on your unique anatomy and movement patterns, I’ll then provide hands-on osteopathic treatment to address restrictions and support healthier movement.
What should I wear to my appointment? Please wear loose, comfortable clothing. You will remain fully clothed throughout the treatment. Gym attire or sweatpants and a sweatshirt are ideal, as they allow your body to move comfortably during your session.
Is Osteopathy right for me? Osteopathy can benefit people of all ages and activity levels. Treatment is tailored to each individual and may help with musculoskeletal pain, postural concerns, movement restrictions, sports injuries, work-related strain, and everyday aches or stiffness. Whether you’re managing a specific issue or simply want to move better and feel more balanced, osteopathy supports the body’s natural ability to function and heal. No doctor's referral is required.
How long is each treatment? Initial appointments are booked for 45 minutes, and follow-up visits for 30 minutes to allow time for assessment, treatment, and discussion. Hands-on treatment time may vary from visit to visit depending on what your body needs that day. Rather than focusing on the clock, each session is guided by your individual presentation and response to care, ensuring you receive thoughtful and appropriate treatment every time.
Is Osteopathy covered through insurance? Many extended health insurance plans provide coverage for osteopathic treatment. Coverage varies between providers and individual plans, so it’s best to check with your insurance company to confirm your specific benefits. Please note that we do not offer direct billing; payment is made at the time of your appointment, and a receipt will be provided for reimbursement.
What can I expect after treatment? After treatment, it’s normal to experience mild muscle soreness, stiffness, or fatigue as your body adjusts. These sensations are usually short-lived and part of the healing process. Staying hydrated and allowing your body time to rest can be helpful. If you have any concerns following your visit, you’re always welcome to reach out with questions.
